Our premier client, Whelen Engineering, has DIRECT-HIRE positions available on 2nd shift for operators in its Surface Mount Technology Department. Excellent benefits package offered.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all facets of surface mount assembly.
• Primary responsibility for line operation including screen printer, solder paste inspection machine, pick and place machine, and reflow oven, automatic optical inspection machine, and ancillary machines. Including understanding the sequence of events, the control panel, and indicators, and understanding how to replenish supplies and components.
• Setup and operate assigned production equipment, using both automated equipment and manual placement, while achieving goals for quality, efficiency and productivity.
• Monitor the operation of equipment to ensure that assemblies are built to print and in compliance with applicable workmanship standards.
• Ensure that equipment and processes remain within acceptable parameters through quality audits, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Adjust machines or processes to correct problems.
• Maintain necessary logs and records.
• Inspect printed solder paste and component alignment for accuracy.
• Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class.
• Load feeders for equipment and wash boards as needed.
• Ownership of general equipment cleaning and upkeep.

Desired Background/Skills:

• Knowledge in printed circuit boards is ideal but not required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results.
