CoWorx Staffing Services seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for a busy manufacturing company in Farmington MA. This is a direct hire position offering an excellent full benefits package. The salary for this position is $80,000-$90,000.

The Manufacturing Engineer determines the most efficient and economical methods to produce all parts required for the manufacture of Norgren products. This includes providing the required machinery, tooling, and test equipment and preparing process documents for each part. This position determines the preferred method of manufacture and frequently deals with other departments within the company to obtain all information required to write process documents, and must also deal with outside vendors regarding the purchase of machinery and tooling.

The Manufacturing Engineer consults with Design Engineering to assist with the evaluation of new products and makes recommendations regarding cost and materials used. The incumbent determines the most efficient procedure to follow in the manufacturing of individual parts. This includes tooling and fixture design, test fixture design, preparation of process documentation and calculation of product cost. The incumbent reviews existing tooling and processes and recommend improvements and modifications.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement equipment with safety in mind to ensure, there are no risks to our employees.
• Address ergonomic, machine-guarding, and industrial hygiene hazards by incorporating available technologies and industry-leading best practices into the design of equipment and workstations.
• Design and execute efficient cell designs that are line balanced to accommodate different demand outcomes based on TAKT
• Identify and execute productivity savings opportunities, and present a business case by completing CAPEX forms.
• Complete all necessary standard work documentation – (Set up sheets, Work instructions, Standard work layout etc.)
• Identify opportunities for process improvements as related to material flow and presentation to assembly cells.
• Ensure the most economical production of parts through the recommendation of materials and manufacturing processes to be used to produce high quality parts and products.
• Build relationships with all levels of manufacturing personnel as well as various levels of management; involves a large variety of job assignments.
• Prepare and meet cost estimates by specifying the most economical materials and procedures to be used while meeting the established quality standards.
• Design or coordinate the design of efficient machinery, test equipment and facilities, including all. necessary documents to reduce manufacturing costs.
• Act as Project Manager for equipment installation projects. Prepare all necessary documentation for capital equipment requirements and equipment projects.
• Analyze product designs for best method of manufacture
• Provides technical support for specific plant operations
• Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
• Act as a technical resource for the production team, supporting problem-solving activities and leading improvements related to safety and quality.

Desired Background/Skills:

• Six Sigma greenbelt or blackbelt (preferred)
• Four-year engineering degree (e.g. BSME) and 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
