Job Description

CoWorx is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician for a new opportunity in Newport, NH. In this role you will be responsible for a wide variety of skilled tasks involved in the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment throughout the facility.

You will perform duties with minimal supervision.

Job Requirements

Primary Duties:

  • Install new heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts and equipment
  • Repair or replace low and high pressure refrigerant lines
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions
  • Calibrate thermostatic controls
  • Identify parts required for repairs and provides information to supervision
  • Inspect air conditioning units and observes pressure of liquids and vapor  
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance
  • Adjust and maintains internal electrical and electronic control systems
  • Clean coils and blowers and checks motors and belt tensions
  • Properly complete maintenance records as required by the city, state and federal regulations
  • Perform and complete required recordkeeping for Quality Program calibrations and PM Program
  • Accurately follow complicated assembly drawings, blueprints, manuals, and work instructions
  • Safely operate various hand and power tools and powered industrial equipment 


  • Overtime may be required, based on business need
  • Regular attendance required
  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • Completion of HVAC technical training certificate program
  • Four years of journeyman experience in heating and air-conditioning
  • At least two years spent in commercial or industrial HVAC
  • Possession of an EPA Refrigerant Technician license preferred
  • Must have the flexibility to respond to multiple assignments
  • Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent
  • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently
  • Computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, strongly preferred
