Job Description

CoWorx Staffing is looking for a CNC Laser Operator for a local sheet metal company. In this role you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating CNC lasers according to work orders and customer specifications.

Job Requirements

Job Duties:

  • Read routers, travelers, customer drawings, etc. and programs to determine specifications
  • Maintain library of cutting parameters for various materials
  • Set up machine parameters, power settings, feeds, and cycle settings
  • Call up part numbers from computer to program machines
  • Put metal sheets into machine to cut parts
  • Check to-print items using various measuring devices such as gauges, micrometers, calipers and tape measure
  • Perform beam path alignments, laser programming, and routine maintenance as needed
  • Troubleshoot problems and adjust machine as necessary to correct
  • Schedule machine maintenance with Maintenance Department
  • Ensure product meets quality requirements
  • Move parts into position manually or with hoists, cranes, fork trucks, or hand trucks
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits

Requirements:

  • Basic Computer Skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistance
  • Math Skills – decimals, percentages, fractions - geometry and trigonometry is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts, etc.
  • Prior CNC machining experience helpful
  • Read and understand internal procedures and policies
  • Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions
  • Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
