Job Description

CoWorx Staffing has a new opportunity for an Air Import Specialist in Lynnfield, MA. In this role you will be responsible for communication with overseas agents, offices, and customers regarding shipments. You will also set up files and monitor import documents and status.

This is a detail-oriented, deadline-driven, report heavy job.  A background in customs brokerage, air freight, freight forward, or airline import compliance would be helpful.

Job Requirements

Primary Duties:

  • Communicate with overseas agents and offices to arrange pick-ups 
  • Communicate with customers about shipment status via e-mail and customized excel reports
  • Set-up files and confirm receipt of import document
  • Prepare arrival notices in proprietary software (Cargowise)
  • Approve payment of freight charges and terminals fees to airlines to obtain cargo release
  • Send arrival notice and documents to inhouse customs brokerage department
  • Monitor shipment status and advise clients of any changes to schedule
  • Upon release from customs, prepare delivery orders and arrange delivery
  • Prepare quotations for clients and agents
  • Invoice clients in accordance with quotations or agreed rates

Qualification:

  • Knowledge of  Inco terms, exchange rates, and currency conversions
  • Knowledge of world geography with port locations
  • Knowledge of customs clearance process incl. all documents involved
  • General knowledge of customs rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
  • Experience with Cargowise software is a plus
  • Good verbal and written customer service skills
  • Ability to oversee multiple files at various stages of the import process
  • Accurate data entry and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced work environment
