Job Description

CoWorx Staffing Services has an immediate direct hire opportunity for a Research and Development Team Lead in Dover, NH! In this role you will work for a company that specializes in thermoformed and heat-sealed products.

Job Requirements

In this role you will:

  • Lead, develop and evaluate the Research & Development Team
  • Conceive, design, and develop new products/processes through engineering analysis, prototyping, risk assessment, and qualification testing
  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Design tools, gauges, equipment, prototypes, and new manufacturing processes
  • Design and lead experiments to confirm/uncover or resolve design questions.
  • Evaluate, document, and implement design or process equipment or tooling changes to improve performance, manufacturability, safety, and/or cost of existing products/processes
  • Risk analysis using FMEA and well-considered design reviews

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in an Engineering (or Engineering Technology) field - Mechanical engineering preferred
  • 5–10 years of demonstrated product/process development experience in an applicable engineering area
  • 2-5 years of demonstrated experience leading individuals or teams, including responsibility for employees personal and technical development, as well as disciplinary
  • Experience in machine controls systems, PLC programming, machine automation methodology and machine vision systems is desirable
  • Experience in machine design, simple electrical design, and understanding of common manufacturing practices
  • Strong statistical analysis, experimental design (DOE) experience is highly desirable
  • Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. with the ability to learn new ones
  • Proficient in Solidworks primarily and/or Inventor
  • Knowledge of drawing standards (geometric tolerancing, etc.)
  • Experience with plastic part fabrication (common forming/sealing methods and equipment; thermoforming is particularly valuable)
  • Experience with fluoropolymers or other exotic polymers is also desirable
  • Familiarity with commonly used engineering systems, methods of analysis, and business tools.
  • Ability to travel for business (<5% of the time)
