CoWorx Staffing Services seeks an HVAC Technician for a premiere manufacturer in Charlestown NH. This is a Direct Hire, 1st shift position offering competitive pay, a fantastic benefits package and a fantastic workplace environment.

Position Overview:

An HVAC Technician is responsible for a wide variety of skilled tasks involved in the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment throughout the facility. All tasks must be performed safely, in accordance with experience, training, instructions and guidance from the maintenance supervisor or designee. This position performs duties with minimal supervision.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Installs new heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems; repairs and replaces damaged or worn heating, ventilation and air-conditioning parts and equipment; repairs or replaces low and high pressure refrigerant lines.

  • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical malfunctions; installs, replaces or repairs damaged or worn equipment; calibrates thermostatic controls. Identifies parts required for repairs and provides information to supervision.

  • Inspects air conditioning units and inspects and observes pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation both to diagnose problems and ensure efficient operation of units.

  • Performs regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units and maintains chilled water and cooling tower systems.

  • Adjusts and maintains internal electrical and electronic control systems; cleans coils and blowers and checks motors and belt tensions.

  • Properly completes maintenance records as required by the city, state and federal regulations, both on paper and in a variety of computer systems. Performs and completes required recordkeeping for Quality Program calibrations and PM Program.

  • Accurately follows complicated assembly drawings and blueprints as well as manuals and work instructions for equipment operation and diagnostic troubleshooting.

  • Safely operates various hand and power tools and powered industrial equipment such as fork lifts, aerial lifts and pallet jacks.

  • Assists in planning and designing new installations of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.

  • Works as a team player to facilitate the objectives of the Maintenance Department.

  • Follows verbal and written instruction and is accountable for his/her actions.

  • Follows safety guidelines (PPE, etc.) and demonstrates safe work practices. Ability to perform tasks in a safe manner, following plant safety rules, including Lockout/Tagout.

  • Adheres to the safety and quality standards (goals and metrics) of the organization while working within a team environment.

  • Accepts increased responsibility and is accountable for his/her actions.

  • Promotes job and process improvement as it relates to the department.

  • Responds to multiple assignments in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Overtime may be required, based on business need; regular attendance required.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or equivalency required.

  • Completion of HVAC technical training certificate program.

  • Four years of journeyman experience in heating and air-conditioning, two of which were spent in commercial or industrial HVAC.

  • Possession of an EPA Refrigerant Technician license preferred.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision; self-directed with high level of initiative and strong work ethic required.

  • Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals, work instructions and blueprints.

  • Possess the ability to react to changes of responsibility throughout the day. Must have the flexibility to respond to multiple assignments.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.

  • Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

  • Must be willing to work on whatever shift they are needed, including nights and weekends.

  • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.

  • Computer skills, including familiarization with Microsoft Office, is strongly preferred.

  • Must be computer literate to facilitate information search and operation of Building Management System to monitor HVAC system performance and diagnosis of system malfunctions.
