Job Description

CoWorx Staffing has a new Direct Hire opportunity for a Buyer/Planner in Portsmouth, NH. In this role you will be responsible for supporting an electronics assembly manufacturer by placing and scheduling purchase orders, sourcing components, negotiating with vendors, preventing material shortages, and working closely with other departments to ensure production needs are met.

Job Requirements

Primary Duties:

  • Plan, procure and schedule materials to support daily production requirements
  • Support quote preparation through component price look ups and sourcing options
  • Review incoming orders against forecast / materials availability
  • Assist in implementation of a company-wide ERP system
  • Initiate RFQs, review bids, select vendors, negotiate terms, assess performance
  • Manage day-to-day supplier issues and material constraints affecting production
  • Drive continuous improvement in the supply chain (quality, cost and delivery)
  • Maintain Approved Vendor List and supplier quality ratings
  • Support an accurate inventory system; execute high standards for data integrity
  • Analyze materials usage and recommend actions for reducing risk and increasing turns

Qualifications:

  • Electronic component buying experience required 
  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience in manufacturing supporting production as a buyer/planner
  • Experience working with ERP system and/or the Quickbooks Manufacturing Module
  • Proficient working with spreadsheets, databases and computers generally
  • Preference given to individuals with electronics assembly background
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized in work habits and personal space
  • Self-motivated and be able to work with minimum supervision
  • Problem-solver, quick learning, high personal integrity, team player
